The premise

Do you trust your present self to take good care of your future self?

Most of us don’t betray our future in one dramatic act. We do it quietly — through postponement, self-deception, neglected care, unfinished conversations, and promises we never quite embody.

The reverse is also true. A trustworthy future is built through small acts of truth, repair, courage, and recommitment.

The Trustworthy Self is the deep dive into Wisdom — the third movement of the Hale & Wise trilogy — and the question that comes after survival: what is the recovered, functioning life actually for?

The retreat works through four domains of self-stewardship:

Domain 1

Knowledge

Can I trust what I see?

Reality contact, belief under correction, and the courage to update old maps.

Domain 2

Values

Can I trust what I care about?

Clarifying what deserves protection in this chapter of life.

Domain 3

Agency

Can I trust what I do?

Turning insight into enacted evidence, one keepable commitment at a time.

Domain 4

Social Identity

Can I trust where I belong?

Truthful recognition, repair, and community without self-betrayal.

The retreat

The retreat

A facilitated reflective retreat for people standing at a threshold — ready to examine the life they’re living and the future they’re creating.

It is not personal therapy and not a clinical treatment program. It is a guided experience built around structured inquiry, short teaching segments, written exercises, facilitated conversation, and the lived intelligence of a small group.

Structure: a two-day repair experience, with an optional third Practicum day for those who want to turn insight into a concrete plan for the next chapter.

Small rooms · Southern California · premium and intentionally limited.

The Self-Trust Audit

Where has self-trust weakened?

A reflective tool for locating where your future self most needs your present self’s attention — across Knowledge, Values, Agency, and Social Identity. Best taken when you’re ready to go deep.

After the retreat

Repair holds when it's witnessed.

The weekend ends; the work doesn’t. Graduates of the retreat are welcome in the Trust Circle — a confidential monthly circle where the work keeps its shape. The last Sunday of every month, ninety minutes, on Zoom.

Where are you on the journey?

Insight starts the journey; doing is what makes it hold. This is the deepest room of the house.
